Educating and informing

We deliver education sessions – both face-to-face and online – to engage with the community and help our customers, their representatives and peak bodies understand their obligations.

Over the past 12 months, we hosted education sessions about land tax, payroll tax, help for first home buyers, the short stay levy, commercial and industrial property tax, vacant residential land tax, windfall gains tax, congestion levy and more.

We developed a new suite of payroll tax webinars covering fringe benefits tax, the nexus provisions, contractors and our PTX Express portal. For the first time, we held webinars to help businesses lodge unclaimed money. We also provided sessions for short stay levy customers ahead of the first annual return lodgement deadline of 30 January 2026.

This year, we focused on delivering more seminars tailored to accountants, lawyers, conveyancers, real estate agents and other tax professionals. We travelled throughout Victoria for face-to-face discussions with local practitioners and offered webinars for those who couldn’t join us in person.

We also hosted discussion groups for the Australian Institute of Conveyancers, CPA Australia and the Law Institute of Victoria.

In 2025–26, we:

  • visited 25 locations across the state
  • delivered 90 in-person seminars
  • hosted 178 online webinars
  • spoke at 25 education sessions by invitation
  • welcomed more than 10,000 attendees to these 293 sessions in total.
